However, you can keep your problem under control!

Here are 7 hyperthyroidism remedies that will improve your thyroid health!

Note: This guide is based on my own research on relieving hyperthyroidism symptoms.

1. Avoid Foods High In Iodine

Iodine might seem like a good solution when it comes to thyroid problems.

“Why are you telling me that it is not good for me?” you probably want to ask me.

Actually, iodine is indeed effective for some thyroid problems, but not for hyperthyroidism.

Why is that?:

  • Hyperthyroidism is caused by the excess of hormones.
  • Iodine stimulates the production of these hormones.
  • In order to keep the hormone levels balanced, you need to eat low-iodine foods.

Now you understand what it is so important to avoid foods rich in iodine.

So, I'm going to be more specific and I will tell you exactly what foods to avoid.

One of them is fish or any dishes that contain seafood or fish.

Thus, stay away from:

  • sushi
  • lobster
  • salmon
  • crabs
  • seaweed

They contain a high quantity of iodine, so it is better to eliminate them from your diet.

Other foods rich in iodine are:

  • egg yolks
  • dairy products
  • iodized salt and water

“Oh, there are so many delicious foods that I have to avoid! But I love fish!” you may say.

Ok, you do have a point!

So, let's find out what you can eat instead.

Of course, there are many foods that contain a low quantity of iodine, so they are perfect for you!

Yes, you need to avoid the egg yolks, but guess what? You can eat egg whites!

So far, so good! Let's see what elese you can eat!

Fresh fruits are always a good choice! They are both tasty and healthy!

What else can you have?

Well – popcorn, potatoes and nuts. However, make sure that you add non-iodized salt to them.

Thus, to avoid fish and dairy products doesn't seem that hard anymore, does it?

I'm sure that there are many other foods that you can eat.

You'll even forget about the one that you are not allowed to have!

So, stick to a low-iodine diet and keep your thyroid heathy and comfortable!

SUMMARY

Iodine might seem a good solution for thyroid issues, but it is not useful for hyperthyroidism.

So, in order to keep your problem under control, it is better to avoid foods rich in iodine.

However, you can eat low-iodine foods like fresh fruits, nuts or potatoes.

2. Include Selenium in Your Meals

Selenium is one of the essential substances if you are suffering from hyperthyroidism.

So, in order to keep your problem under control, you need to include it in your everyday meals.

Well, that's because selenium can be helpful in your case:

  • Enhances the effect of the drugs that you already take.
  • Regulates the levels of your hormones.
  • Helps you keep your hyperthyroidism under control.[1]

Thus, selenium is so useful when it comes to thyroid problems.

All you need to do is include selenium-rich foods in your daily meals.

Talking about foods, let's see what foods you should try.

I think we should start with nuts.

What nuts contain the highest quantities of selenium?

Well, Brazil nuts are the winner. Have you heard of them?

No? Let me tell you some more details about them:

  • Contain a high amount of selenium, of course.
  • Are rich in antioxidants.
  • Have anti-inflammatory proprieties.

How should you consume them?

Well, you can eat them as a snack or you can include them in various recipes.

They are tasty raw as well as roasted, so you can choose what you like most.

However, you shouldn't eat too many Brazil nuts at once.

That's because they contain more selenium than you actually need.

So, how many nuts should you eat per day?

Actually, there is not a standard number, but keep in mind that equilibrium is the key here.

What else can you try? Well, what do you say about some meat?

Here you have more types of meat that you can try:

  • Beef
  • Turkey
  • Chicken

They are a good choice because they are rich in selenium.

Also, they are quite versatile, so you can prepare more types of dishes with them.

However, if you prefer vegetables, you can try:

  • Brocolli
  • Green peas
  • Potatoes
  • Spinach

So, there are so many foods that you should definitely try.

But make sure that you include them in your every day meals.

I'm sure you'll see that your health will improve and you will be less tired and irritable.

4. Vitamin B-Rich Diet

What are your thoughts when you hear about vitamin B?

You probably already know that there is a complex of these vitamins.

So, a vitamin B complex is what you need to improve your thyroid function.

That's because vitamins B are essential when it comes to hyperthyroidism.

How come? Well, there are more reasons for that:

  • regulate your hormone levels
  • interact with thyroid function
  • a deficiency of vitamin B might negatively affect you

Ok, you got it. You need to include vitamin B complex in your everyday diet.

Yet, how should you do that?

By eating foods that are rich in vitamin B, of course!

Which are those? Well, there are many foods that you can have, but let's see which are the best ones!

I will start with leafy greens.

They are a good choice because they are rich in vitamin B9.

Of course, the term “leafy greens” is a little unclear. What should you actually eat?:

  • Spinach (cooked or raw)
  • Turnip greens
  • Romaine lettuce

Children usually hate the taste of spinach, but can you see how many benefits it has?

So, don't hesitate to include them in the dishes you prepare!

What else can you try?

What do you say about citrus fruits? They are delicious, aren't they?

However, they are also a good source of vitamins B – like B1, B5 or B9.

Actually, these are just some of the vitamins B that they contain. There are more of them.

Thus, try to eat some of those citrus fruits:

  • Oranges
  • Clementines
  • Lemons

How should you eat them?

Well, you can eat them raw, you can juice them or you can include them in different salads.

Another fruit that you can try is avocado

Avocado is quite trendy nowadays, isn't it?

So, you probably know part of its benefits.

However, let's see why it is beneficial for your thyroid:

  • Contains almost 20 vitamins
  • Is rich in vitamin B6
  • Works as an energy boost
  • Contains antioxidants

So, you should definitely include it in your diet if you haven't done it already.

You have so many other options that you might want to try – like grains or cereals.

Thus, it is up to you what you want to eat.

However, make sure that you eat enough foods that are rich in vitamins B.

I'm sure you'll notice that your thyroid function will improve if you stick to a healthy diet.

SUMMARY

Vitamin B complex is also essential in case you are dealing with hyperthyroidism.

So, in order to include it in your meals, you need to eat foods that are high in vitamins B.

Some of them are leafy greens and citrus fruits.

5. Go Sugar-Free

A sugar-free diet is always a good choice, no matter the problem you are dealing with.

However, it is especially important to avoid sugar if you suffer from hyperthyroidism.

That's because sugar is an artificial sweetner and it doesn't bring benefits to your health.

Actually, it has the opposite effect.

It can cause other diseases, especially in your case.

Why is that so?

  • Hyperthyroidism increases your metabolism.
  • That means that insulin is eliminated faster from your organism. [2]
  • As a result, your blood sugar levels rise.
  • This can increase the risk of diabetes.

Thus, no matter how much you love sugar, you need to limit the amount that you eat.

Don't try to trick me by replacing it with other artificial sweeteners!

This won't bring you any benefits either!

What can you do instead?

Well, you can replace sugar with some natural sweeteners.

The most popular one is honey.

Also, honey is quite versatile, so you can include it in many recipes.

However, don't exaggerate with it either. It's still a sweetener, right?

What else can you use? You can use dried fruits.

They can be eaten as a snack if you crave something sweet, or you can use them in different recipes.

What dried fruits do you like? I advise you to try those:

  • Dates
  • Raisins
  • Prunes
  • Apricots

As I already mentioned, moderation is key when it comes to sweeteners.

So, don't eat too many dried fruits either!

If you don't like dried fruits, you can eat fresh fruits, of course.

However, make sure that you eliminate sugar from your diet.

Your thyroid and your overall health will improve, I'm sure!

SUMMARY

If you want to relieve your symptoms, you'd better stay away from sugar.

That's because the sugar level in your blood rises when you suffer from hyperthyroidism.

So, for best results, you need to consume a small amount of sugar.

So, for better results, make sure that you follow all my instructions, without skipping a step.

How much tea should you drink?

Well, two cups of tea is more than enough.

When is the perfect time to drink green tea?

Early in the morning. Why is that? That's because green tea has an effect similar to coffee.

It is an energy boost.

Thus, if you drink it in the morning, you will have energy the whole day!

That being said, I don't have anything else to add.

Yet, I strongly advise you to try green tea out! I'm sure you will be happy with the results!

SUMMARY

Green tea can also help you keep hyperthyroidism at bay.

That's because it is rich in antioxidants and other useful properties.

So, you need to drink two cups of green tea per day, early in the morning.
