My Review: Biosil Hair, Skin & Nails – Works For Hair Loss/Growth?

It's time to review Biosil Hair, Skin & Nails – a very interesting hair supplement.

Do you think it's worth it?:

  • quite affordable
  • not designed exclusively for hair
  • causes some side effects

So does it work for hair loss and growth? Or is it rather overhyped?

Well, I'm going to dig deep into this product, to give you the real deal about it.

Note: This review is based on my opinion + research on Biosil Hair, Skin & Nails.

Review Summary

review Biosil Hair Skin & NailsFull Name: BioSil Hair, Skin, Nails by Natural Factors Nutritional Products.

Product Type: Hair Supplement

Best Actual Prize: Around $32

Cheapest Place To Buy: Amazon

Designed For: Nourishes and restores beauty proteins – it helps to:

  • improve skin elasticity
  • strengthen the nails
  • promote long thick hair

My Rating: 7 out of 10

Recommended?: Not quite – it's not a bad supplement, but it's not the very best option:

  • not an exclusive hair product
  • can cause specific side effects
  • doesn't really help with hair loss

If you're looking for a supplement that will focus on hair issues, BioSil is not the one.

Better go for a much better supplement that is specially designed for hair loss/growth.

What I Liked About It

  • Really helps with skin elasticity
  • Can strengthen nails and hair
  • Has some clinical studies behind its formula
  • Great for strengthening hair
  • Available in several online marketplaces

What I Didn’t Like About It

  • Formula is too weak for most hair issues
  • Doesn't really treat most causes of hair loss
  • High risk of certain side effects
  • Quite pricey its hair benefits

Biosil In A Nutshell

review Biosil Hair Skin & NailsFirstly – Biosil claims to restore your body's 3 beauty proteins.

These proteins specifically benefit the hair, skin and nails.

Honestly, it's a pretty decent supplement – because of its effect:

  • makes the skin youthful
  • reduces nail brittleness
  • promotes stronger hair

But as a standalone product for hair, it's far from amazing.

The reason is that its formula does not treat any of these problems:

  • hair shedding and thinning
  • male/female pattern hair loss
  • main causes of shedding (iron deficiency, lack of nutrients, DHT excess, etc.)

Also – I found some disadvantages about it:

  • triggers some adverse reactions
  • increases hair loss in some people
  • a little price for what it can do (for hair)

Again – it's not a very bad supplement.

But it's not the best option you have.

It's not very expensive if you only want to maintain your hair, skin and nails.

But as a hair product alone, I don't advise you to give it a try.

Instead – you should invest your money in a real hair supplement.

#1 – How It Works & Producer

Firstly – we will tackle some general details about Biosil Hair, Skin & Nails:

  • how it works internally
  • what hair issues it helps
  • the producer behind it
1. How It Works

I want to start right away that Biosil is not an exclusive product.

Well – it's a supplement for hair, skin and nails all together.

So it claims to restore your body's 3 beauty proteins.

To explain further – here's how it works:

  • makes the hair thicker and shinier
  • reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • encourages stronger nails

Actually – it's a pretty simple product, in terms of mechanism of action.

Its goal is to help you stay youthful and beautiful.

But it's not a supplement that will help you with hair problems:

  • pattern hair loss in men or women
  • hair thinning
  • most causes of hair loss

Honestly – the best thing it can do is to improve your healthy and thicker hair.

So if you don't have a major problem, it's a good product for you.

Otherwise, I wouldn't really recommend it for hair.

2. Company Behind

BioSil is made by the brand Natural Factors Nutritional Products.

Now – the company has an official website and here's what I found out:

  • sells several products for different health needs
  • focuses on producing supplements
  • you can find its social media links on its website
  • ships to the US, Canada and Europe
  • contact info includes phone number, email and mailing address

If you ask me, the company produces many supplements for health care.

So you know by now that it's really the focus of this brand.

Overall – it looks like it's worth trusting.

#2 – Ingredients (6 out of 10)

If you ask me – Biosil  has a decent formula.

But it's weak overall if you use it to treat some major hair problems.

That's because the ingredients mainly focus on the skin:

  • no major compounds for hair loss
  • no herbal ingredients with hair-related studies behind

For instance – there's no Horsetail, Saw Palmetto or Nettle.

There aren't even any vitamins/minerals (iron, zinc, biotin, etc.).

As you can see, there are only two major ingredients in the formula.

They are very effective for strengthening hair and increasing its elasticity.

But that's pretty much it.

Anyway – let's take a closer look at these 2 ingredients.

1. Choline (as ch-OSA®) 100 mg

Let's first talk about the type of Choline present in Biosil.

Basically – it's a form of silicon that is more bioavailable.

Also – it almost has the same properties as the Vitamin B complex [1].

Several studies found that it can help in several ways:

  • heals damaged skin cells [2]
  • promotes the production of collagen and elastin

If you ask me, its major contribution is to repair the skin.

I didn't find any solid info that it could help several major hair issues.

All it can do is to make the hair stronger.

Again – Choline is very similar to biotin (in terms of structure).

So a high can cause acne, according to some previous users [3].

2. Silicon (as Choline-Stabilized Orthosilicic Acid) 5 mg

Another compound present in Biosil is Silicon.

It's formulated as Choline-Stabilized Orthosilicic Acid.

So here's how it can help:

  • treats skin destroyed by the sun [4]
  • provides more hydration to the skin
  • reduces the brittleness of hair and nails

Again – it's another compound that can benefit the skin.

Also, there are a lot of clinical studies behind it.

So it's an assurance that the formula really works.

But once again, it doesn't have a lot of hair benefits (especially for shedding).

Conclusion

To sum it up – Biosil Hair, Skin & Nails has some good ingredients.

But the overall formula does not really treat major hair issues.

I'm talking about hair loss, thinning or shedding.

The best thing it can do is to make your hair stronger.

But there's no point paying all that for this only benefit.

#3 – Pills & Dosage (8 out of 10)

If you ask me, Biosil has some very simple info at this chapter.

1. Pills

Here's how I would describe Biosil's looks:

  • gelatin encapsulation
  • normal  size
  • cream-white powder inside

In my view, some people would love its characteristics.

That's simply because the gelation cover will make it easy to swallow.

Overall – it looks like an average supplement to me.

2. Dosage

Another good feature of Biosil is the serving size.

Basically, you just need to take 1 capsule twice daily.

So that's a total of 2 pills per day.

Well – if you don't mind the number of pills per day, you're good to go.

But if you think 2 capsules is too much, you might not like it.

All in all – it depends on your own preferences.

#4 – Results (9 out of 10)

Luckily, I found a lot of honest reviews about this product.

So if you're curious how Biosil Hair works, keep on reading the comments below.

Note: I only analyzed authentic reviews, not promotional or fake ones.

1. Positive Opinions

As always, I don't rely on the reviews on the product's website.

Instead – we're going to feature the comments of the customers on Amazon.

So here are the things people loved about Biosil:

  1. Most customers said that their hair got thicker and longer.
  2. Some experienced shinier and smoother hair.
  3. Others mentioned their nails became stronger and less brittle.
  4. There were also buyers who noticed more youthful skin.

Now – the product has a rating of 4.6/5 stars.

If you ask me, it's pretty high – so a lot of people actually liked it.

It works more on making the hair, skin and nails healthier.

So if that's what you're looking for, you will probably like it as well.

2. Negative Opinions

Meanwhile, let's look at the negative comments about it.

So here are the common complaints Biosil received:

  1. A number of customers experienced side reactions.
  2. Others experienced hair loss and shedding.
  3. Some said that it didn't do anything for their hair, skin and nails.
  4. The rest stated that it's pricey for its real quality.

Honestly – I'm quite surprised.

Biosil has many complaints about hair loss, increased acne and even brittle nails.

In other words – it has the opposite effect in some people and it causes the issues it's supposed to treat.

Obviously, this doesn't happen in most cases.

But I just want you to be aware of this possibility.

Conclusion

Overall – Biosil Hair, Skin & Nails has a lot of honest reviews.

A lot of previous buyers liked its effect on their hair, skin and nails.

However – others experienced the opposite reactions.

If I were you, I would look for other options that really focus on most hair issues.

#5 – Side Effects (4 out of 10)

review Biosil Hair Skin & NailsUnfortunately, there are some reported side effects of Biosil.

So here are the common complaints I read so far:

  • severe breakout/cystic acne
  • opposite effect on skin and nails
  • stomach pain
  • nausea and migraine
  • diarrhea and constipation

Honestly – these are quite a lot of adverse reactions.

But the most serious issue is the development of cystic acne.

The reason could be the amount of choline present in the formula.

So if you can't tolerate it, there's a higher risk of this problem.

But unfortunately – you can't really tell beforehand.

Overall – side effects are pretty common in Biosil.

So I can't praise it too much at this chapter.

#6 – Price (6 out of 10)

If you ask me, Biosil is a little pricey.

It's not that expensive initially, but I will explain you more below.

1. The Exact Price

The lowest price of Biosil is on Amazon.

So here are the quantities available for it:

  • 30 count costs $18.36
  • 60 count costs $31.96
  • 120 count costs $55.50
  • Additional discount for “Subscribe & Save”
  • Offers free shipping on some days

Again – I find it a little pricey.

I'm mostly speaking in terms of hair benefits.

That's because there are many better options that are more affordable.

They can all address most serious hair concerns.

But if you're buying Biosil for your skin/nails, the price is far from bad.

2. Competitors’ Price

If you're looking for a real hair supplement, try Folexin instead.

It's my #1 recommended hair supplement:

  1. Folexin has more varied ingredients in high doses.
  2. Its formula can treat most hair issues like hair loss and thinning.
  3. Biosil contains 2 compounds with no major hair benefits.
  4. The formulation focuses only on strengthening the hair, skin and nails.
  5. Folexin costs around $17-18 (for a larger supply).
  6. Its original price is still not high ($24.95).
  7. Biosil's price for a month supply is $32.

If you ask me, Folexin is superior to Biosil from all points of view.

First of all – it's a hair supplement exclusively.

So it really focuses on treating most hair problems.

However, I also used it myself and it was the only supplement that stopped my hair loss for real.

That's why think it's the best investment for your money.

Conclusion

To sum it up, Biosil is a little pricey.

And I'm mostly speaking in terms of hair benefits.

But if you're after the skin and nails, it's not expensive.

It's just that it's the best value for your money if you're looking for a hair product.

#7 – Final Conclusions

If you ask me, here's my view on Biosil.

1. Decent For Skin & Nails

Firstly – Biosil is a good supplement for skin and nails.

It has some compounds with the following benefits:

  • produce collagen and elastin
  • repair damaged skin
  • reduce the brittleness of the nails

So it's a good option if you want to keep your hair and nails healthy.

2. Not The Best For Hair

However – Biosil is not the best hair supplement.

The best thing its formula can do is to make the hair stronger.

But its ingredients don't really help with any of the following:

  • hair loss in women and men
  • hair thinning
  • severe shedding

So if you ask me, it's not the best supplement for the hair.

3. Quite Pricey

In my view – Biosil Hair is not super expensive.

But if you choose it for some major hair issues, it's pricey.

And that's mostly because it doesn't work.

All it can do is to make your existing hair stronger.

My Verdict – Worth It Or Not?

review Biosil Hair Skin & NailsShort answer: Not quite – it's due to some of its red flags:

  1. Does not help with most hair issues
  2. Formula does not treat hair loss, thinning or shedding
  3. Causes some adverse reactions (acne)
  4. A little pricey for its hair benefits

If you ask me – Biosil is not a bad supplement.

In fact, it can help keep the skin youthful.

It can also improve the strength of yournails and hair.

But if you're looking for a genuine hair supplement, I have another recommendation.

I'm talking about Folexin:

  • Contains the best combination of nutrients and herbs
  • Really works in treating hair loss and other major hair issues
  • Formula has a low risk of side effects
  • Has a very affordable price tag

At this moment, Folexin is obviously the best option.

Firstly – because it's a real hair supplement.

But I also used it myself and it's been the best supplement ever (I tried over 50).

So if you have hair loss, shedding or thinning, just go for Folexin instead.

You will surely get your money's worth.
