My Review: 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet By Michael Mosley (2023)

It’s time to review the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet.

As you can guess, it's designed to fix your diabetes problems.

At least that's what it claims – so is it really effective?:

  • slightly pricey
  • its strategy isn't suitable for everyone
  • pretty popular

Now, this book looks pretty interesting at first sight.

But we're going to find out more about it, in this review.

Note: This review is based on my opinion + research on 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet.

Review Summary

review 8 week blood sugar dietFull Name: 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet by Dr. Michael Mosley

Product Type: Diabetes/Blood Sugar Book

Best Actual Prize: Around $13.93 (softcopy)

Cheapest Place To Buy: Amazon

Designed For: Beating diabetes quickly – according to its claims:

  • allows you to stay off medication
  • lowers blood sugar
  • sheds dangerous fats

My Rating: 6 out of 10

Recommended?: Not really – even though it's not terrible:

  • a little bit pricey
  • doesn't offer a lot of contents
  • some diet tips can be on the dangerous side

So if you're looking for some real diabetes benefits, it's better to go for an internal product

Its effect and results on high blood sugar are way superior.

What I Liked About It

  • Contains 2 different sections (9 chapters and 50 recipes)
  • Offers different book versions (paperback, softcopy, audiobook/CD)
  • Has an official website behind
  • A lot of people tried and reviewed it

What I Didn’t Like About It

  • Some tips are not for everyone (800 calories)
  • Recommended recipes are not too affordable
  • Slightly pricey for what it offers
  • More dangerous than books with different strategies

8 Week Blood Sugar Diet In A Nutshell

review 8 week blood sugar dietIn my view, the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet is a pretty basic book.

It comes with 9 chapters divided into two sections.

Also – its end part has 50 recipe recommendations.

However – I found some red flags about it:

  • doesn't work in some cases
  • quite pricey for its contents
  • might cause some slight side effects
  • its recipes are not really affordable

Now – the book mostly recommends 800 calories diets.

Honestly, this can really contribute to weight loss.

Consequently, it can improve your diabetes.

However – I don't think it can improve it so much that you can stop taking medications.

I also found some comments about side effects (nausea and gastric reflux).

But those are probably due to an immediate change of diet.

Lastly – the lowest price of this book is $13.93 (for the softcopy).

Overall – I'm not amazed by it and it's I don't believe it's good enough to make some big changes in your diabetes.

But if you're willing to try it, I wouldn't stop you.

#1 – How It Works & Producer

Let's take a quick glance at 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet:

  • its main contents
  • the methods it recommends
  • who is the creator behind it
1. How It Works

Firstly – there are not a lot of words in the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet's description.

It simply states that it's created to “defeat diabetes without drugs.”

Also – here are some of its claims:

  • lowers blood glucose levels
  • reduces unhealthy fats
  • reverses type 2 diabetes

As most products of this type, it's a book based on certain tips and recommendations.

So most of its content is focused around:

  • 800 calories diet
  • high-protein and low carb diet
  • causes of diabetes
  • best recipes for the diet

Now – I want to mention again that it claims to reverse type 2 diabetes.

According to its promises, it would reduce your blood sugar until you could stop your medications.

Honestly – I'm not impressed with that statement.

If there's no prescribed medication that can do that – how could a book make such a drastic change?

And it's all by following a 800 calories diet (that is surely not for everyone):

  • potentially dangerous
  • can even hurt your overall health

People with diabetes have to be very careful with their diet.

That's why I wouldn't recommend going for a strict eating regimen out of the sudden.

That's simply not too safe and healthy.

2. Producer

Here are some details about the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet's producer:

  • created by Dr. Michael Mosley
  • he's a doctor, science journalist and executive producer
  • authored other books promoting a healthy diet

If you ask me, this book has a pretty decent background.

So at least you know that the person behind it is credible.

I'm talking about the experience of the author in the medical field.

However, the exact recommendations from this book are not my personal favorites.

So despite trusting its author – I'm not a big fan of the exact content.

#2 – Course Content (6 out of 10)

The 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet has the following contents:

  • 9 chapters divided into 2 sections
  • 50 recipe recommendations

Now – the course doesn't have several volumes, since it's just a single book.

When it comes to its actual content, it's mostly focused on diets:

  • showing why its diet recommendations work
  • explaining how you should follow each diet

But let's take a closer look at its main chapters.

1. Chapter 1

“The Obesity Epidemic: Why We're in the State We're In” is the title of this initial part.

From what I understood, here's what it talks about:

  • obesity triggers/causes
  • the growing population of obese people
  • actual meaning of obesity

As you can see, it gives an idea about one of its main goals.

The 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet targets obesity due to diabetes (not just diabetes alone).

2. Chapter 2

This chapter if focused on recommendations about avoiding obesity.

Hence, its title is “How Do You Solve a Problem Like Diabetes?”.

So it's meant for people who are worried or close to going obese.

Here are its main topics:

  • how to avoid worsening diabetes and obesity
  • proper management of pre-symptoms
  • its own approach to handling diabetes

Overall – this part of the book will introduce its unique implementation.

3. Chapter 3

The third chapter has the title “Are You at Risk for Type 2 Diabetes?”.

As its name suggests, it's focused on showing you:

  • the chances you have to become diabetic (at one point)
  • the signs you need to look out for

In my view, it's excellent for people who are unaware that they might be at risk.

Plus, it tells you the next steps you need to take (if you're at risk).

4. Other Chapters

Now – listed down below are the rest of the chapters in the book:

  • 4 – Going Low-Carb
  • 5 – The Return of the Very Low-Calorie Diet
  • 6 – The Three Core Principles of the Blood Sugar Diet and What to Do Before You Start
  • 7 – The Diet in Practice
  • 8 – Getting Active
  • 9 – Sorting Out Your Head
  • The Blood Sugar Diet: 50 Recipes

Chapters 1-5 belong to Section 1, while the rest are in the second section.

There are also some recommended recipes – which have a separate section in the book.

If you ask me, it has a good flow of contents.

It gives out a lot of details about how you should follow the diet it recommends.

Those diets aren't too suitable for all users, but that's another story.

In terms of content and tips, the book itself is very detailed.

Conclusion

To sum it up, the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet is a pretty decent program.

But it's not enough to make you stop your medications (as it claims).

Also – there are other books that are more specific and offer more lessons.

So I don't really recommend it – because there are some better alternatives.

#3 – Results (7 out of 10)

Fortunately, the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet has a lot of reviews available.

So with that, we can get an idea of how it worked for most people.

Note: I only analyzed real reviews, not fake/promotional ones.

1. Positive Opinions

Now – I will feature the comments from previous buyers on Amazon.

The overall rating of 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet is 4.2 stars out of 5.

Honestly, that's a great number.

So here are the things its customers liked the most:

  1. A lot of them said that it helped made them stop using their meds.
  2. Others mentioned that their blood sugar levels were normalized.
  3. Some noticed that they lost weight.
  4. The rest praised the recommended recipes in the book.

If you ask me, the majority of the comments were about weight loss.

But honestly – weight loss is not always connected to curing diabetes.

There are people who stopped taking medications after following these tips, which is great.

However, that's not the majority of its previous users.

Overall – the product worked great for many.

But it didn't allow most people to give up their prescriptions.

2. Negative Opinions

If you're curious, here are the complaints of other customers:

  1. Most of them said that the 800 calories diet is not healthy for everyone.
  2. Others mentioned that the recipes are quite expensive to try.
  3. There were buyers who experienced adverse reactions.
  4. Some received a defective softcopy of the book.

In my view, the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet is not for everyone.

The 800 calories diet is not safe for a lot of people (due to its restrictions).

Also – the recipes are a bit hard to make on a regular basis.

So honestly, I can't really recommend it, despite some of its good points..

Conclusion

Overall – the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet has quite a lot of reviews.

Most of its users did experience weight loss.

But there were also people who didn't like this program too much.

With that, I suggest you to look for other books (with some better recommendations).

#4 – Side Effects (4 out of 10)

review 8 week blood sugar dietNow – the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet caused some side reactions in certain people.

So far, here's what I found out from its reviews:

  • nausea and digestion problems
  • gastric reflux

For other people, these issues might not be super major.

And if you ask me, they probably appear because of this sudden change in diet.

After all – switching to 800 calories overnight isn't the most gentle thing you can do.

So reducing your food intake gradually (a few days before) might help with that.

But even so, this diet a little bit dangerous too.

Honestly, 800 calories a day isn't really suitable for everyone.

#5 – Price (5 out of 10)

Now – the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet is a little bit pricey.

It's not the most expensive course out there, but it doesn't offer a lot for its price.

1. The Exact Price

Now, this 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet is available in some places.

But I will list down below its prices from Amazon:

  • Softcopy costs $13.93
  • Paperback is $14.66
  • Audio Book is free (with app)
  • Audio CD $37.99

If you ask me, it looks affordable at first sight.

But if you consider its contents, it's not the best deal.

It's definitely not a scam (as some sources say).

But if I had diabetes – I wouldn't really dare following such a restrictive diet as this book recommends.

Also – there are some problems with the softcopy (according to several previous users).

The book itself is more than decent, but there are far better options in the market.

2. Competitors’ Price

Let me introduce to you the Diabetes Masterclass.

It's the better choice – that's why it's my #1 recommended book for diabetes.

  1. Diabetes Masterclass has 3 phases that focus on reversing diabetes.
  2. It offers 6-part video courses with a bonus of 4 diabetes e-books.
  3. 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet contains 9 chapters divided into 2 sections.
  4. It comes with some recipe recommendations to make you stop your meds.
  5. Diabetes Masterclass' price is $19.97 (with lifetime access to the course).
  6. 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet's pricing starts at $13.93 (softcopy) and $14.66 (paperback).

Honestly – Diabetes Masterclass offers more recommendations for diabetes.

It's more specific (in terms of lessons and advice).

So for its price, I consider it to be a much better investment.

That especially if you partner it with a great supplement (like Striction D).

Overall – these two products combined together are the best choice, in my view.

Conclusion

If you ask me, the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet looks affordable at first.

But its overall recommendations aren't the best (even though they include 5o recipes).

If you compare it to other books, I would say it's not worth it as much.

So I personally would go for another option.

#6 – Final Conclusion

Let me share with you my quick views about 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet.

1. Basic Content

The 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet has the following contents:

  • 9 chapters divided into 2 sections
  • 50 recipes recommendation

It claims to make you stop your medications.

However – I'm 99% sure this book isn't enough to do that.

2. Program is Not for All

Again – the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet promotes an 800 calories diet.

If you ask me, that's surely not suitable for everyone.

That especially for those who have some sensitive cases of diabetes.

It's great for losing weight, but it's not enough to reverse type 2 diabetes.

Overall – it can be a supplementary product.

But I don't think it can make miracles alone.

3. Not the Best Deal

For the last part, 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet is affordable initially.

However – it doesn't have a lot of content.

The price of its softcopy is $13.93, which isn't a lot – but it's not that cheap either.

Besides that, even the recommended recipes cost a lot too.

So overall – it's not a good investment and I don't recommend it.

My Verdict – Worth Or Not?

review 8 week blood sugar dietShort answer: Not really – there are some disadvantages it has:

  1. Might cause some adverse reactions
  2. Quite pricey for its value
  3. Program is not suitable for everyone
  4. Recipes are not really affordable

In my view, the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet is a decent book.

It doesn't offer a lot of content, unfortunately.

Also – its recommendations are rather dangerous, I would say.

Niot to mention that the recommended recipes require a lot of money..

So basically, you need to spend a lot to follow this 800 calorie diet.

Now – if you're looking for some way better books/courses, I have a suggestion.

What do I recommend instead? A product called Diabetes Masterclass:

  • Has some much materials at an affordable price
  • Many customers recommend it
  • Proven to improves diabetes
  • Promotes some original methods

Diabetes Masterclass has a full course that offers a lot of teachings and programs.

So you would definitely learn a lot more and understand diabetes better.

It's a pretty great deal because you're going to pay very little for it.

Also – I recommend that you partner it with StrictionD.

In that case, you would get some much better results for your diabetes.
