My Review: Sane Luminae (Supplement) – Does It Boost Weight Loss?

It's time to review Sane Luminae (supplement). So does this product boost weight loss?:

  • very expensive
  • small serving size
  • limited customer reviews

Honestly – the product looks pretty good at first look.

But is it completely so in real life? And is it actually effective for weight loss?

Let's look further down the line to if it's worth trying.

Note: This review is based on my opinion + research on Sane Luminae.

Review Summary

Full Name: Luminae Weight Loss Support by SANE Laboratories

Product Type: Weight Loss Supplement

Best Actual Price: $59.95 to $67

Cheapest Place To Buy: Its Official Website

Designed For: Boosting metabolism and weight loss – with some additional claims:

  • supports thyroid health
  • promotes a lean body mass
  • increases muscle mass build

My Rating: out of 10

Recommended?: Not really – it has a bad side as well (which is pretty significant):

  • its mechanism of action isn't very logical for weight loss (claims to balance thyroid)
  • can lead to androgen excess symptoms
  • quite pricey for what it offers
  • not too many honest reviews

In my view, it's pretty expensive for what it does in terms of weight loss.

Not to mention that it's also dangerous.

You can definitely find a more practical alternative that is also a lot more effective.

What I Liked About It

  • Formula has some helpful compounds for weight loss
  • Small serving size (1 pill/day)
  • Offers different bundles with discounts
  • Gives you a full year refund time

What I Didn’t Like About It

  • Designed to boost metabolism of balancing thyroid levels (which aren't necessarily high in overweight people)
  • Contains an ingredient that can be risky for women (DHEA)
  • Very expensive compared to better alternatives
  • Certain ingredients are under-dosed
  • Not enough honest reviews to prove its claims

Sane Luminae In A Nutshell

As you already know, Sane Luminae is a weight loss supplement.

But its mechanism of action is a bit different than that of similar products:

  1. It claims to support thyroid health.
  2. In this way, it would manage to speed up metabolism.

Consequently, its weight loss effect is based on balancing thyroid hormones.

However, 97% of overweight people don't have any major thyroid issues.

Besides, playing with thyroid hormones without a specialist's supervision is dangerous.s.

That's why I don't like this type of supplement.

Additionally, it contains a DHEA derivative:

  • this is pretty dangerous for women
  • DHEA is an androgen (male) hormone
  • DHEA supplements tend to cause androgen excess symptoms in women (acne, body hair, etc.)

Even though DHEA is most likely in a low dose (it's in a blend), it's still there.

Lastly – many of this product's ingredients are under-dosed.

As a consequence, even if the product was effective, it would take a lot longer to see any results.

Its price isn't great either (one bottle costs between $60 and $67).

So even though it's not a sketchy supplement, it has a lot of major problems.

I couldn't possibly recommend it, to be completely honest.

#1 – How It Works & Producer

Let's start with some basic info about Sane Luminae:

  • who is the producer behind it
  • how it helps with weight loss
  • the way it works internally
1. How It Works

According to Sane Luminae's website, the product is a weight loss support supplement.

It works by improving thyroid health, in order to boost metabolism.

But as I said – most people wanting to lose weight don't have any thyroid problems.

And even if some do have a slight hypothyroidism (which is super common), it's not the case behind their excess weight.

So simply balancing thyroid levels won't change too much.

Also, the supplement claims to create a perfect metabolic environment for optimal fat burning.

In return – here are some of its extra promises:

  • increases calorie burn by 300%
  • healthy thyroid function
  • improves lean body mass
  • supports muscle growth

Honestly, the claim about boosting the burning of calories by 300% is exaggerated.

A supplement can't do that even when combined with exercise and a proper diet. It's simply impossible.

There isn't even any prescription drug that can burn so many calories.

If there was one – trust me, everyone would be using it.

Also – it contains a derivative of DHEA, which is an androgen hormone.

So when taken by females, it can cause acne, body hair and a lot of symptoms specific to men.

To be honest, I'm a bit scared by thus supplement.

2. Company Behind

The producer behind Luminae is called SANE Laboratories.

I looked into its official website and here's what I found out about it:

  • makes supplements for the gut, brain, weight loss and hormonal balance
  • also sells protein and superfood powder mixes
  • offers customized health programs (depending on your needs)
  • contact details include address, email, hotline number and live chat

Honestly – it looks like a reputable brand.

So I don't feel like you're going to get scammed by it any soon.

#2 – Ingredients (5 out of 10)

Now – let me describe to you the overall formula of Sane Luminae:

  • two proprietary blends
  • two individual compounds
  • under-dosed ingredients in general

Like I already mentioned – it contains 7-Keto® DHEA in one of its blends.

This is a derivative of DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone), which is an androgen hormone.

As a result – it increases androgen levels and it has steroid-like effects:

  1. Women's bodies naturally produce a specific amount DHEA.
  2. In men, this specific amount is much higher.
  3. Women ingesting additional DHEA tend to develop male features and androgen excess symptoms.
  4. The most common ones are acne, body hair, scalp hair loss and a deepened voice. [1]

Now, the specific ingredient (7-Keto® DHEA) is more focused on weight loss.

However – it's still a type of DHEA, so it has that risk for women.

The compound itself is indeed in a low dose (it's listed inside of a blend).

But as I said, the risk is still there.

I personally do not recommend women to take any product containing DHEA, testosterone, DHT or any other androgen.

As I said, I'm not a huge fan of a weight loss supplement that affects hormones.

Honestly, weight gain caused exclusively by hormones is pretty rare.

I kept mentioning that in some of my other reviews (like Hormonal Harmony HB-5).

Back to Sane Luminae, the supplement claims that it's a no-stimulant formula.

So normally, it shouldn't have any caffeine or stimulant ingredients.

However – the formula contains Green Tea Leaf Extract (which is a mild stimulant).

So it doesn't really seem to keep its word or promises.

Now, listed below are the ingredients of Sane Luminae.

1. Individual Ingredients

As I mentioned, Sane Luminae only contains two compounds with individual doses:

  1. Niacin – increases the hormone that promotes weight loss [2]
  2. Calcium – reduces the chances of gaining weight or fats [3]

Now – these two ingredient seem helpful for promoting weight loss (on paper).

But since their doses are pretty low, I wouldn't count on them too much…

2. Camellira™ Proprietary Blend (345 mg)

The first blend in Sane Luminae contains two main herbal extracts:

  1. Green Tea Leaf Extract – boosts metabolism to produce energy that will lead to weight loss [4]
  2. Grapefruit Seed Extract – it's rich in antioxidants that can help with body functions [5]

As you can see, the main goal of the blend is to boost the body's metabolism.

Another purpose is to provide antioxidants for general health protection.

Again – Green Tea Leaf Extract is a mild stimulant, which sensitive people might not like.

Besides, I personally expected to see more ingredients inside this blend.

In terms of weight loss, these two compounds can't do much.

3. DSHEAMax™ Proprietary Blend (145 mg)

Lastly – Sane Luminae's DSHEAMax™ blend has the following compounds:

  1. 7-Keto® DHEA – supports weight loss by speeding up the body's metabolism [6]
  2. Bromelain – reduces inflammation connected to the thyroid health

In my view, this blend focuses on thyroid health and metabolism.

Again – it claims to improve your thyroid function, which can increase your metabolism.

According to the website, thyroid hormones are said to help your body burn fat. [7]

However – DHEA comes with a lot of side effects for women.

And honestly, the risk is not worth it at all.

So since 7-Keto® DHEA is an ingredient of this blend, I'm not too impressed by it.

Overall, Sane Luminae contains a pretty disappointing formula.

As I've mentioned –  the doses are pretty low and its ingredients aren't too impressive.

Also, the formula itself contains a DHEA derivative, which is not great for females.

So if I were you, I would look for a more potent weight loss supplement.

#3 – Pills & Dosage (8 out of 10)

If you ask me, this aspect is my favorite part about Sane Luminae.

1. Pills

Firstly – let me explain you what Sane Luminae looks like:

  • clear capsule covering
  • beige to light green powder inside
  • standard pill size

Honestly – it looks like a normal supplement.

So if you're used to taking similar kinds of products, you won't find any problem with it.

2. Dosage

Now – Sane Luminae has some very easy instructions.

You only need to take one capsule per day.

The label states that morning is the best time to consume it.

The reason is that it's recommended to use it in conjunction with exercise and diet.

However, the formula is pretty weak, so don't expect to see any different too soon.

Overall – if we're only looking at its serving size, the product has a big advantage.

#4 – Results (5 out of 10)

Unfortunately – Sane Luminae has very limited customer reviews.

But most of them are quite real, so let's see below how the product worked.

Note: I only analyzed authentic reviews, not promotional or fake ones.

1. What People Say

Again – Sane Luminae comes with very few user experiences.

So I gathered the comments both from its Amazon listing and from its website.

If you're curious, here are the thoughts of people who tried it:

  1. A lot of them mentioned that it didn't help them lose weight at all.
  2. Others said that they no longer craved more food than usual.
  3. More people also noticed their weight got lower after taking it.
  4. Some experienced more energy and better metabolism.
  5. The rest saw some differences but it took them time.

More reviews from customers are shown below:

The overall rating of the product is around 3.5-4.5 out of 5 stars.

Both come from Amazon and on its official website.

Now, people saw some improvements in curbing their appetite and losing excess fats.

But the supplement also has the same amount of complaints regarding how it didn't work.

So I would say that it works for some people, but it's going to take a lot of time.

Although supplements in general take time to start working, this product needs even more time.

Overall – Sane Luminae has very few reviews.

But at least most of them come from people who really tried it.

So it's pretty clear that this supplement is on the weaker side.

Honestly, you can find a more potent alternative that won't take forever to start working.

#5 – Side Effects (5 out of 10)

So far – I didn't see any complaints about Sane Luminae's side effects.

That's extremely surprising, considering the high risks this product comes with.

But it's probably because it has few real reviews overall.

Now, weight loss supplements in general tend to cause:

  • headache and nausea
  • diarrhea or stomach pain

Again – they are specific to pretty much all weight loss product.

However, Sane Luminae contains another form of the hormone DHEA.

In women, an excess in this hormone can lead to:

  • excessive body and facial hair growth
  • irregular menstrual cycle
  • acn
  • mood swings

That's because DHEA is an androgen (male) hormone.

So an increased level can mess up your hormones.

Although it's not an individual ingredient (it's in a blend), the risk is still there.

That's why I strongly advise you to avoid supplements containing DHEA or other androgens (no matter how promising they seem).

#6 – Price (2 out of 10)

In my view – Sane Luminae is expensive for its quality.

Let me explain why I don't agree with its pricing.

1. The Exact Price

Firstly – Sane Luminae has a lower price on Amazon.

One bottle of product costs $59.95 ($53.96 upon subscription).

Now – if you want more choices, here are the deals from its official website:

  • Single bottle costs $67
  • 3 bottles cost $49 each
  • 6 bottles cost $37.83 each
  • Additional 15% discount upon subscription
  • Offers money back guarantee (for 1 year)
  • Free shipping for orders above $149

It's true that the product is not a scam.

But if you consider its features (most especially its formula), I don't think it's worth that much.

Again – the doses are on the lower side and its weight loss effect is not the best.

So why would you spend a lot of money on a weak supplement?

Honestly – even if it was more effective, it would still be too pricey for the ingredients it has.

There are way better alternatives within the same price range (or even lower).

2. Competitors’ Price

So let me introduce to you my top weight loss supplement recommendation.

I'm talking about a product called PhenQ:

  1. PhenQ contains way more ingredients in high doses.
  2. The formula is very effective for weight loss, but still very well-tolerated.
  3. It targets the 5 main triggers of weight gain.
  4. Sane Luminae contains only 2 ingredients and 2 blends (with 2 ingredients each).
  5. It also contains a DHEA derivative, which is dangerous for women.
  6. PhenQ normally costs $69, but you can get it for as low as $37.
  7. The normal price of a bottle of Sane Luminae is around $60-$67.

As you can see, both supplements are almost in the same price range.

But if you compare their formulas, PhenQ is 10 times better.

Not only that, but its doses are really high and they manage to promote weight loss.

Also – they can reduce issues like cravings, slow metabolism or appetite.

So for the price you're paying for it, PhenQ is a lot more worth it.

In my view, Sane Luminae is pretty pricey for its value.

Also – it's not the strongest supplement out there.

I don't think spending a lot of money on it is a practical decision.

So if I were you, I would look for a better option, since there is one.

#7 – Final Conclusions

Let me share with you my major thoughts on Sane Luminae.

1. Dangerous For Women

I will start by describing to you Sane Luminae's formula:

  • 2 individual ingredients and 2 proprietary blends
  • the doses of each compound are pretty low

Also – it contains 7-Keto® DHEA, which is a derivative of DHEA.

It will probably cause side effects in a lot of women, since it's an androgen hormone.

Honestly – I'm not a huge fan of a supplements that affect the hormones.

2. Easy To Take

If you ask me, Sane Luminae's best feature is its serving size.

Basically – you only need to consume one pill on a daily basis.

So people might find its dosage more advantageous.

3. Quite Expensive

If you ask me, Sane Luminae is pricey in reality.

The price of one bottle ranges from $60 to $67.

Again – if you look closely at the benefits it can offer, it's not worth it.

Why spend so much on it and end up losing little to no weight at all?

Better go for an alternative that helps a lot more, but it also costs a lot less.

My Verdict – Worth It Or Not?

Short answer: Not really – it has a lot more problems than most of its competitors:

  1. Targets weight loss caused by thyroid problems (which is pretty rare)
  2. Has an ingredient that can cause side effects in women (DHEA)
  3. Super pricey for its features
  4. Ingredients are quite disappointing

If you ask me, Sane Luminae is not a sketchy product at all.

I couldn't find any complaints about it not being delivered or scamming people.

However – I'm don't like its composition at all.

Not only is it weak for a weight loss supplement, but it's also potentially dangerous (due to its androgen-like ingredient).

In my view – you can find a much better option.

Consequently, what's my #1 recommended weight loss supplement?

Well – I urge you to try PhenQ:

  • Contains ingredients in their superior forms
  • Targets the 5 main triggers of weight gain
  • Very effective in supporting weight loss
  • Formula won't affect your hormones (so it's much safer)
  • Great price tag for its high-end features

Honestly, if you have the budget to buy Sane Luminae, go for PhenQ instead.

Again – it's a weight loss supplement that won't alter your hormones or your health.

So if you can get a product like that, your body will thank you.

With that, PhenQ definitely remains my top recommendation.
